Slop

How to tell when a poster or a page was made by AI, and why you already stopped reading it.

Every corridor in this school has at least one of these posters. You already know the look: a glossy picture, a crowd of icons, a slogan that sounds like an advert, and nobody's name anywhere. Most of you stopped reading them a long time ago, and you were right to. This page is about why they feel the way they do, and how to say exactly what gives them away.

Phoenix Dumplings

This poster advertises a dumpling shop that doesn't exist. The prompt that made it is printed below the poster, so you can compare what was asked for with what came out. Tap every part you think gives it away as AI-made, then press Check. You get a few more pins than there are tells, so tapping everything won't work.

Paul's closing commentary goes here: what students can do with this, and a word for the teachers reading over their shoulders about naming the tool and the prompt on anything AI helped to make. There is more on using AI well in AI in Education.
